Synergy Worldwide transports Leibherr crane
The Cape Town office of our South African member Synergy Worldwide Logistics was recently contracted to handle the import and transportation service of a 200 Ton Liebherr Crane.
The team was hired from one of their big clients in the Oil and Gas industry to get this crane to a barge that was waiting for refurbishment.
The various crane parts were arriving as Breakbulk at FPT Cape Town ex MV Green Mountain. The base machine had dimensions of 12.2 x 3.00 x 3.25 meters with a weight of 42.000 kg. The remaining parts were summing up to a total of 224.070 kg.
The scope of work executed by the team of Synergy Worldwide Logistics included to provide transport of the crane parts from FPT to Quay 502 and the entire procedure of the customs clearance. FPT was loading the commodities onto trailers and Synergy Worldwide Logistics managed the transport to the barge at Quay 502. The cargoes were divided into 2x abnormal loads and 12x semi loads. The entire operation went off without a hitch resulting in compliments from a happy customer.
