TII KAMAG strengthens industry dialogue
TII KAMAG is deliberately focusing on close exchange with the steel industry in order to identify market developments at an early stage and translate them into practical transport solutions.
With the new “Proximity in Metallurgy” event series, the company has created a platform that brings together key players across the industry.
The aim of the initiative is not only to observe technological and process-related developments, but to actively discuss them together with steel plant planners, crane manufacturers, plant engineers, ladle manufacturers and other industry partners. With the events held at its Ulm site, TII KAMAG has consciously established a format that combines practical insights with professional exchange and provides space for open discussions along the entire value chain.
The focus lies on current changes in steel production, which are increasingly having a direct impact on in-plant logistics processes. In particular, the transition towards Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) is fundamentally transforming existing process chains. Higher batch frequencies, shorter cycle times and new thermal load profiles are placing increasing demands on transport solutions, vessel technologies and material flows. At the same time, the growing importance of slag as a co-product is coming further into focus. It is increasingly used in applications such as cement, construction materials and the chemical industry, leading to rising requirements for traceability, thermal management and efficient logistics within steel plants.
“The ‘Proximity in Metallurgy’ events are deliberately designed not as traditional product presentations, but as a platform for dialogue,” emphasises Filippo Baldassari, Managing Director of TII Group. “Participants contribute their operational experience, discuss concrete challenges and define requirements for future solutions.”
Feedback from participants has been consistently positive. In particular, the open exchange between different stakeholders and the opportunity to bring together diverse perspectives were highlighted. The combination of technical discussions, insights into production and hands-on demonstrations was also perceived as highly valuable. Several participants emphasised their intention to continue the dialogue beyond the events and to further develop concrete joint projects.
“Our aim is to understand market developments at an early stage and translate them into concrete, implementable solutions,” explains Filippo Baldassari. “Direct exchange with our industry partners is essential for this. Only in this way can we ensure that our products meet the real requirements in steel plants.”
Among the focal points of the events were the KAMAG IHT (Industrial Heavy Transporter) for in-plant heavy-duty transport and the KAMAG SPC (Slag Pot Carrier) for safe and reliable slag handling. Both solutions are key elements of modern steel plant logistics and will be further developed based on the insights gained.
With the “Proximity in Metallurgy” event series, TII KAMAG underlines its ambition not only to follow developments in the steel industry, but to actively help shape them – through close industry ties, a deep understanding of processes and continuous dialogue with its partners.
