New trailer flow passes through the Port of Skellefteå

In a partnership between WALLENIUS SOL and DSV Independent in Umeå, a regular trailer flow now passes through the Port of Skellefteå, connecting Travemünde, Zeebrugge, Antwerp and Tilbury.

Trailers are initially loaded in Travemünde and Zeebrugge, with goods intended for industries in Northern Sweden. Subsequently, these same trailers are reloaded with export cargo and dispatched to their respective destinations, as provided by WALLENIUS SOL. The liner service from Skellefteå connects to Travemünde, Zeebrugge, Antwerp and Tilbury.

This sustainable sea route results in a 70% reduction in CO2 emissions per shipment, in comparison to road transportation, thereby assisting industries in achieving their Scope 3 targets.
