Alexander Global Logistics collaborates with WELL on USA transport

Project Logistics Alliance member from Germany, Alexander Global Logistics, and their USA member, WELL Worldwide Energy Logistics, have successfully transported a drilling rig weighing 50 tons and measuring 16.50 x 3.00 x 3.55 meters from South Germany to its final destination in Atlasburg, Pennsylvania under DAP terms.

The transportation of this complex machinery and its accessories marks a significant achievement of international collaboration within the Project Logistics Alliance community.

The journey began in South Germany, where the drilling rig was prepared for its transoceanic voyage. The drilling rig was loaded onto a specialized low-bed trailer designed to accommodate its dimensions and transported to the Port of Zeebrügge. From there, a Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) transport vessel facilitated the rig’s transport to the Port of Baltimore. The utilization of a RoRo vessel allowed for the efficient loading and unloading of heavy machinery, streamlining the process and minimizing the risk of damage during transit. Once at the Port of Baltimore, WELL Worldwide Energy Logistics organized the low-bed trailer used for the on-carriage delivery from Baltimore to Atlasburg, PA.
