Barrus successfully transports to South Ural Hydroelectric

Barrus Projects has successfully completed the transportation of a gas turbine’s rotor from LLC Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies plant in Gorelovo to the South Ural Hydroelectric Power Station-2, in Chernobyl region.

The new rotor was delivered and installed after the dismantlement of the old rotor which was also delivered by the company and transported back by rail to the factory in Gorelovo.

Characteristics of the main OOG (rotor of gas turbine SGT5-4000F): 11.5 х 3.3 х 3.3 m / 107.1 t.

The project lasted for 5 months and included such works as preparation of transportation documents, the transportation of rotors via route “SGTT” plant – South Ural Hydrowelectric Power Station-2 and back, including obtainment of permits for oversized/heavy cargo and loading/unloading operations, development of necessary railway drawings.
