Johann van Zyl joins DHL Global Forwarding
Effective October 1, 2026, Johann van Zyl will join DHL Global Forwarding as Global Technical Director, Industrial Projects.
In this newly established role, he will strengthen DHL Industrial Projects’ global technical, engineering and commercial capabilities, helping to deliver innovative and differentiated solutions for complex project cargo and industrial logistics challenges.
Van Zyl joins DHL from Roll Group and brings more than 20 years of experience across project logistics, heavy transport, lifting, marine logistics, engineering, commercial leadership and business development. Throughout his career, he has successfully supported complex customer projects across Africa, the Middle East, and other key markets, combining deep technical expertise with a strong commercial mindset.
This appointment underscores DHL Global Forwarding’s commitment to further expanding its Industrial Projects business and enhancing its technical proposition globally. Van Zyl will support the development of specialized solutions that help customers navigate increasingly complex industrial supply chains. In his role, he will report to Torben Waalkes, VP, Global Head of Marine Chartering, Industrial Projects at DHL Global Forwarding. He will be based in Dubai.
