Cathay Cargo beat out a crowded field to land the gong for Sustainable Cargo Airline of the Year as the Freightweek Sustainability Awards (FSA) returned with a record number of industry nominations and votes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Richard Broom, CEO of Freightweek and the Freightweek Sustainability Awards (FSA) 2025 was taken aback by 273,000 of the supply chain\u2019s best and brightest casting their ballots for the 2025 FSAs \u2013 the highest number since the awards were launched.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was tremendous growth in voter turnout from 170 countries around the globe this year, leaving me elated by the fact that Sustainability is now firmly established as a prerequisite to achieve success in global logistics,\u201d Broom told Freightweek.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe FSAs recognise the incredible efforts and achievements of all the nominated companies. To be nominated is a great success in itself and to be a winner of these prestigious awards is the pinnacle of success.\u201d<\/p>\n

Showcasing Sustainability is a continuing process rather than something that can be achieved, Strike Aviation Group and Unilode landed the FSAs for Sustainable GSSA of the Year and Sustainable Logistics ULD provider of the year, respectively.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, Broom sees only positive signs for the future. However, he struck a note of caution, warning the industry \u201cwe should never take sustainability for granted, by constantly pushing the sustainability agenda we can and do make a difference!\u201d<\/p>\n

It is a warning the industry appears to be not only heeding but keen to make it known to both its customers and the wider world that it is an issue it is taking seriously, as the full list of winners below attests to.<\/p>\n
