This past weekend, the Sarens family gathered for a modest but meaningful ceremony to christen their newest giant crane, the SGC-170. <\/strong><\/p>\n

In true Sarens style, the event was simple and heartfelt\u2014no pomp or extravagance, just the essentials, as we marked the arrival of a new legend in our fleet.<\/p>\n

The crane was officially named Big Matthias, in honour of Matthias Sarens, R&D Manager, whose vision and innovation have been instrumental in shaping our family of giant cranes. The name reflects not only his contribution, but also the values that define us as a company: family spirit, engineering excellence, and the courage to take on the impossible.<\/p>\n

As our fifth super-heavy lift crane, Big Matthias reminds us of Sarens\u2019 unique ability to combine strength with foresight. With a 170.000 tonne-metre load moment and 3.200 tonnes lifting capacity, it stands among the most powerful land-based cranes in the world, second only to our legendary SGC-250. At the same time, it is fully electric, zero-emissions, and engineered for the future\u2014proof that heavy lifting can be both powerful and sustainable.<\/p>\n

The christening of Big Matthias was more than a naming ceremony. It was a quiet affirmation of who we are: a family united by innovation, humility, and a commitment to lifting the world higher.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s to Matthias. Here\u2019s to Big Matthias. And here\u2019s to Sarens\u2014always grounded, always reaching further.<\/p>\n
