Blue Water moves more North Sea turbines as pre-tax profit rises

ESBJERG, Denmark: May 2019. Blue Water Shipping has been contracted to handle four wind turbine projects on behalf of Siemens Gamesa Offshore. They include three in the North Sea: Hohe See, Albatros, Borssele, and one offshore Virginia on the US east coast.

A total of 183 wind turbine components will be loaded on installation vessels by Blue Water and shipped out of Esbjerg. The first shipments out of a total of 47 have been completed and the projects will continue into 2020.

It is a very important project for us and contributes to maintaining and strengthening our position within logistics and stevedoring to the wind turbine industry,” said Blue Water head of Operation, Port Services Søren Messmann. “We know that our extensive experience and strong competences mean a lot to our clients in relation to the entire logistics flow.”

Blue Water Holding reported a pretax profit of €1.3 million on revenue of €748 million in 2018 – a €13 million improvement compared to the previous year on a €50 million increase in turnover.
