SARR Freights successfully executed a complex multimodal transportation project from Mangalore to the Kalpeni Islands, Lakshadweep, India. The shipment comprised of a 100-ton capacity Lattice Boom Hydraulic Crawler Crane and a 30-ton Tyre Mounted Mobile Crane.
SARR undertook the turnkey project which included road transportation, stevedoring, port handling and towing operation from Mangalore Port to the Kalpeni Islands with a barge-tug combination. To complete the project, additional services such as constructing a purpose made Jetty (due to poor infrastructure), dismantling of the cranes, insurance, port documentation and acquisitions of approvals were required.
The project was completed despite additional obstacles due to the nationwide lockdown.
In addition to its international undertakings, SARR has extensive prior experience in coastal movement in India. Aside for opening a new route from Vizag to Northeast India route through Bangladesh a few years ago, SARR has completed many challenging turnkey projects involving multimodal freight forwarding and freight management services for the Indian Government in the Andaman Islands. SARR continues to undertake challenging projects and pioneering solutions for various government entities and multinational ventures.
