Rhenus provides storage in the Alsace for HARTMANN

Since the beginning of 2022, Rhenus has provided storage space to the Alsace-based subsidiary of German group HARTMANN.

Rhenus also organises shuttles between its logistics site in Dambach-la-Ville and the HARTMANN factory in Lièpvre.

Operating in Alsace since 1972, German group HARTMANN manufactures products for incontinence and wound management at its factory in Lièpvre, between Strasbourg and Colmar. In addition to its ultra-modern logistics centre in Belleville in the Beaujolais region north of Lyon, HARTMANN also requires a temporary storage space near its manufacturing site in Alsace. To meet this need, HARTMANN chose Rhenus thanks to its strong presence in Alsace and extensive experience in the field of medical device logistics.

Rhenus therefore took charge of pallets of finished goods for HARTMANN in its scalable warehouse space, and provides shuttles between the Lièpvre factory and the Rhenus logistics site in Dambach-la-Ville thanks to its own fleet of trucks. The multi-user warehouse unit was rapidly equipped with racks adapted to the exceptional height of the pallets. The logistics provider also rapidly secured the staff required, hired in line with the gradual ramp-up between January and April.
“Rhenus was able to meet our request quickly and flexibly. We particularly appreciate how accessible our contacts are, and their expertise in outsourced transport and logistics in our business sector,” said Cédric Wanner, Logistics Director France at HARTMANN France.

“Our strong presence in the Eastern part of France means we can offer our expertise to the region’s manufacturers by drawing on existing infrastructure and many years of local experience. Together with the Lyon area, Alsace is the region in which we are most firmly established in France, with high potential for future development,” stated Laurent Schuster, CEO of Rhenus Logistics France.
